Bobs Your Uncle

Martin and Michele Yeeles launched Bob’s Your uncle in 2001. Originally from England, they moved to the States in 1993. In 1877, Prime Minister, Robert Cecil, appointed his nephew as Minister for Ireland. The press had a field day when he referred to the Prime Minister as “Uncle Bob”. That’s how “Bob’s Your Uncle” became a popular phrase applied to any situation where the outcome is favourable.

They met while studying at the same art school, graduating with a BA Hons in graphic design. During their 4th year in working for 2 successful London based design consultancies, they decided to work together in their free time, on a range of self initiated and commissioned projects. Anonymity was important at this stage, and they became known as Designers Anonymous.

The Museum of Modern Art’s acclaimed holiday card program originated in 1954, and continues to showcase original ideas from contemporary graphic designers and artists. They select approximately two-dozen cards every year, through and open-entry system, to update the line of more that 90 cards, many of which have won the industry’s “Louie Awards.” The Line is known for interactive designs with stickers, mobiles, spinners, intricate paper engineering and assembly. Images range from sophisticated to whimsical.
